On behalf of the board of directors of the Receivables Management Association of Canada (RMA), we would like to thank you all for attending and supporting our very successful 2016 Annual Conference.
Your membership support of our Annual conferences is what makes our association strong.  We are working diligently to finalize the location and dates for our 2017 conference which we will communication early in 2017.

The RMA board of directors is looking forward to 2017, and are committed to making the RMA experience a better one for its members.  Stay tuned for coming changes to our website and updates to our government relations effort on regulatory matters related to the receivables management industry in Canada.   On this note, we would like to share a recent letter sent by our President on behalf of the Association to Service Alberta which has opened channels for discussion which we will be pursuing.

Dear Darren:
On behalf of the board of directors of the Receivables Management Association of Canada (RMA) and our members, I am writing to thank you for agreeing to appear before the delegates of RMA’s 2016 Annual Conference.
Your participation on the panel with Doug Kiriam and Vance Lockton revealed that Service Alberta would be soon providing guidance to clarify how debt purchasers are regulated in Alberta. Many of RMA’s members are debt buyers, thus have a great interest in the details of the proposed guidance.
I am hopeful that you will be able to provide RMA with an opportunity for pre-consultation before your guidance is made public. A member of the RMA board would be made available to follow up with your scheduling assistant to determine your availability to meet, should an opportunity present itself.
Thank you, again, for joining us last week.
Stephen Sheather
RMA President

In the coming weeks we will also be posting other communications the association will be sending in order to open communications with other legislative organizations, as well as looking to enhance the members experience on the website.
